Horizontal Break Pantograph Disconnector is frequently used disconnector type in HV substations.

Base |
Horizontal Break Pantograph Disconnector consists of one pole. Each pole consists of two bases, one rotating and two support insulators. Each base is made of two NPU profiles and one fixing plate on which the insulators are installed. All steel parts of the disconnector are hot-dip galvanized.

Insulators |
The disconnectors can be equipped with insulators in accordance with IEC, ANSI or DIN specifications.

Moving and Fixed Parts |
The moving contact is made of 2 aluminium tubes with a hinge in the middle and have silver-plated copper contacts at the end point. During closing of the disconnector, the moving contact makes a horizontal stretching movement. Full contact pressure of the moving contact is achieved by full stretching of the moving contact.
The moving contact is of the cylindirical design, which makes it suitable for very high short circuit currents.
All fixed finger contacts are made of silver-plated copper and are equipped with stainless steel flat springs to ensure reliable contact pressure. The main terminals are made of alumunium flat contacts.
Depending on the voltage rating, anti-corona rings will be provided.

Earthing Switch |
Güral Horizontal Break Pantograph Disconnectors may be equipped with earthing switches, which can be built-on to the right and/or left side. The earthing switch consists of an aluminium square or rectangular tube, provided with silver-plated copper contact. A mechanical interlocking is provided between disconnector and earthing switch.

Operating Mechanism |
The disconnectors and/or earthing switches can be single-pole operated by means of a motor-operated drive mechanism or a hand-operated drive mechanism.
MD Series motor drives and HD series hand drives have aluminium housings and special design auxiliary switches. MD series motor drives also have hand operation by a crank.

Testing |
The horizontal break pantograph disconnectors and earthing switches are designed and tested in accordance with latest IEC standards.

| Installation |
The horizontal break pantograph disconnectors and earthing switches are preassembled and adjusted in our workshops as complete as possible.
The construction is designed so that all disconnectors can be installed at site very easily, without the need of any special tools. Güral provides installation instructions and assembly drawings.

Maintenance |
The disconnectors and earthing switches supplied by Güral are designed so as to ensure that they are maintenance free.
However, to guarantee a long and trouble-free service period, we advise that a visual inspection of the contacts be carried out at regular intervals.
