General |
Indoor earthing switches are used for ensure absolute de-energisation of medium-voltage equipment in a circuit or switchgear.
Güral Indoor Earthing Switches offer free-standing, robust and reliable solutions for medium – voltage earthing systems. With variations designed to serve for a wide range of system voltages, Güral Indoor Earthing Switches currently operate worldwide at system voltages from 12kV to 36kV.
The flexibility of the design of Güral Indoor Earthing Switches allows almost any custom solutions requested by the client, insulation levels, driving variations and construction assembly types.

Base and Shaft |
Indoor Earthing Switch consists of three poles. Three poles indoor earthing switches consist of a base, three support insulators, a continuous main sliding shaft (hexagonal transmission 27) and three earthing blades that moves in a vertical plane. Continuous main sliding shaft enables the optional mounting of the drive on the left or right side.
All steel parts of the earthing switch base are hot-dip galvanized or electrogalvinized.
Insulators |
The earthing switches can be equipped with insulators in accordance with IEC, ANSI or DIN specifications.
Earthing Blade |
The twin sectioning earthing blades and terminals are made of electrolytic copper. Terminals and contact surfaces of blades are silver plated.
The twin sectioning earthing blades are pressed on terminal contacts by means of a number of spiral springs depending on required contact pressure due to short-circuit capability, ensure that the current is transferred from the terminal contacts into twin sectioning earthing blades. This blade and contact construction is maintenance free.
The contacts are self-cleaning, which makes the earthing switch suitable for installation in all areas with severe climatic conditions.
Operating Mechanism |
The earthing switches can be three poles operated by means of a motor-operated drive mechanism or a manual-operated drive mechanism.
Güral indoor earthing switches can be drived by any controlgear model designed by Güral; drive model is to be decided according to application requirements.
Testing |
The earthing switches are designed and tested in accordance with latest IEC standards.
Installation |
Indoor earthing switches are completely assembled and adjusted in our workshops. Its design permits both vertical and horizontal mounting.
The construction is designed so that all earthing switches can be installed very easily, without the need of any special tools. For each indoor earthing switch an instruction manual for transportation, mounting and commissioning is enclosed. This instruction manual should be strictly followed.
Maintenance |
The indoor earthing switches supplied by Güral are designed so as to ensure that they are maintenance free.
However, to guarantee a long and trouble-free service period, we advise that a visual inspection of the contacts be carried out at regular intervals.
