General


    MV Indoor Rocking Disconnector is the most frequently used disconnector type in many MV systems.

   Güral MV Indoor Rocking Disconnectors offer robust and reliable solutions for medium – voltage systems. The 1-, 2- and 3-pole indoor rocking disconnectors are applicable for a wide range system voltages from 12 kV to 36 kV and a rated current range from 400 A to 4000 A. The rated short time current up to 50 kA for a duration of 3 s depending on the model has been tested. The Indoor Rocking Disconnectors have various types like normal, with earthing switch on supply, load or on both terminals, with fuse base, with fuse base and earthing switch. Depending on client's requirement all Güral MV indoor rocking disconnectors can be equipped with an auxiliary switch and/or an interlocking coil. The Indoor Rocking Disconnectors are intended for currentless switching in medium voltage switchgear.

   The flexibility of the design of Güral MV Indoor Rocking Disconnectors allows almost any custom solutions requested by the client, including earthing capabilities of load, supply or both terminals, insulation levels, driving variations and construction assembly types.

Base and Shaft


    MV Indoor Rocking Disconnector consists of single, two or three poles with or without fuse base and with or without earthing switches. Single, two and three poles rocking disconnectors consist of a base, a number of fixed support insulators depending on type of disconnector, one/two/three operating insulators depending on number of phases, a main sliding shaft (hexagonal transmission 27), one/two sliding shaft (hexagonal 27) for earthing switch and one/two/three main blades depending on number of phases that moves in a vertical plane. All steel parts of the disconnector base are hot-dip galvanized or electrogalvinized.
   

Insulators


   The disconnectors can be equipped with insulators in accordance with IEC, ANSI or DIN specifications.
   

Current Carrying Part


   The twin sectioning blades and terminals are made of electrolytic copper. Terminals and contact surfaces of blades are silver plated.

   The twin sectioning blades are pressed on terminal contacts by means of a number of spiral springs depending on required contact pressure due to short-circuit capability, ensure that the current is transferred from the terminal contacts into twin sectioning blades. This blade and contact construction is maintenance free.

   The contacts are self-cleaning, which makes the disconnector suitable for installation in all areas with severe climatic conditions.
   

Earthing Switch


   Güral MV Indoor rocking disconnectors with earthing switches may be equipped with earthing switches, which can be built-on to the supply and/or load side. Güral MV Indoor rocking disconnectors with fuse base and earthing switches may be equipped with earthing switch, which can be built-on to load side. An i nterlocking between the main and earthing shaft is available. The interlock prevents earthing the disconnector closed or vice versa.
   

Operating Mechanism


   The disconnectors and/or earthing switches can be single, two or three poles operated by means of a motor-operated drive mechanism or a manual-operated drive mechanism.

   Güral indoor rocking disconnectors can be drived by any controlgear model designed by Güral; drive model is to be decided according to application requirements.
   

Testing


    MV Indoor rocking disconnectors are designed and tested in accordance with latest IEC standards.
   
Installation

    MV Indoor rocking disconnectors are completely assembled and adjusted in our workshops. Its design permits both vertical and horizontal mounting.

   The construction is designed so that all disconnectors can be installed at site very easily, without the need of any special tools. For each switchgear an instruction manual for transportation, mounting and commissioning is enclosed. This instruction manual should be strictly followed.

Maintenance


    The MV Indoor rocking disconnectors supplied by Güral are designed so as to ensure that they are maintenance free.

   However, to guarantee a long and trouble-free service period, we advise that a visual inspection of the contacts and bearing points be carried out at regular intervals.
