To operate the poles of MV disconnectors and earthing switches, either manually or electrically, we propose a complete range of mechanisms, suitable for our disconnectors, but also, with some minor adaptations, to switches of other manufacturers.

Güral MD, HD, MVMD, MVHD, DK, HK series operating mechanisms offer the multiple features necessary to operate the disconnectors or earthing switches either locally or remotely (MD and MVMD), in the best condition of safety for the operator and the grid. They are designed to ensure the highest reliability over years, with the use of corrosion-free materials for the enclosure and external devices. The inner components (MD, HD, MVHD) are protected by the weatherproof cabinet IP 55 and by anti-condensation resistors.

MD Series motor operating mechanisms

Güral MD series motor drives is the result of many years of continuous improvements in the field of reliability and easiness of use. MD series motor drives are manufactured in several types, the overall dimensions of the mechanism remains the same, in some special cases, optional accessories are installed inside the housing due to customer request.

MD Series motor drivess can carry out the electrical operation of the driven device; by means of an electrical motor which drives a chain system driving the vertical mechanic load terminal shaft, or the manual operation of the device, by means of a crank to be inserted to excite the chain mechanism.

MD Series motor drives are generally supplied to carry out 90º rotation on the mechanical load terminal shaft, but in some special cases due to customer request, the driving angle can be pre-adjusted for different angles.

Integrating selected and tested components, it can operate within the standard IEC temperature range (-25/+ 40°C ), but also, upon request, down to -50°C and up to 50°C .

The motor and auxiliary voltages can be chosen according to the available supply on the substation, AC or DC, from 110 V to 400 V.

MD Series motor drives supplied by Güral are designed so as to ensure that they are required first maintenance after 1000 switching operations. All MD Series motor drive configurations are tested to satisfy IEC 60694.

All MVHD Series Hand Drive Unit configurations are tested to satisfy IEC 60694.

1. Handle The polyamid handle is designed for an easy grasp.
2. Operating Arm The hot deep galvanized operating arm of460mm enables a torque ratio of 1/6,minimizing the effort needed to drive anydevice.
3. Mounting Flange The mounting flange is St 37-2 alloy, and the steel is protected against corrosion by120µm hot deep galvanisation. Connectionis made by 2xM12xL bolts, 2xM12 springwashers and 4xM12 plain washers, as explained on the overall layout drawing.
4. Driving Arm The driving arm is composed of non-corrosive parts, and is compatible with 1"connection pipes or rods. The rotationability in both XZ and XY axises provides MVHD units' assembly flexible and possible on any supports. Please see details below.
5. Position Label The color aluminium label indicates the position of the MVHD and the drived unit.
6. Lock The optional lock provides extra security against unauthorized operations.
7. Release Button The water-proof release button energizes the locking coil to enable manual operation.
8. Casing The casing is made of 2.5mm aluminium, and is electro-static painted.
9. Frontal Cover Assembled by corrosion-proof inox bolts, the aluminium frontal cover is removable for any inside operations by the operator.

1. Thermostat The thermostat is adjustable to maintain the inside temperature between 0 to 30ºC. The default value for the thermostat is 25ºC
2. Core Mechanism The core of the unit is made up of Zn plated steel components and the electromagnetic coil operating at the preferred auxiliary voltage.
3. Auxiliary Switch The auxiliary switch is optional for MVHD units, and can be ordered as from 2 to 8 NO/8NC contacts.
4. Terminal Blocks High quality terminal blocks are tested to comply with IEC 60694 dielectric tests. The quantity of blocks are determined by the electrical component composition of the unit.
5. Heating Resistor The heating resistor is a standart component for MVHD units to assure the proof of corrosion inside the unit and the long endurance of electrical components in harsh environmental conditions.
6. Upper Airway Upper airway lets the moisture and excess heat out, while keeping dust and other unwanted environmental particules away.
7. Lower Airway IP 55 airway to let fresh air in.
8. Lower Cover The lower cover is an electro-static painted aluminium plate and is assembled to the main case by INOX bolts. It can be drilled for cable entry or entirely removed to be replaced by custom covers designed by the user.

Pipe plug-in

1. Pipe Connection The pipe connection is compatible with 1" pipes.
2. Double axis cantilever The rotation ability of the cantilever in both XZ and XY axises provides MVHD units' assembly flexible and possible on any type of supports.
3. Support Connection The M16x75 HDG bolt and the M16 HDG nut connects the driving arm to the operating arm. The driving arm can be dismounted by releasing the connection nut and bolt, in case of any need to ease the pipe connection to the pipe connection component. If needed, the driving arm can also be mounted on the opposite side ofthe operating arm, to inverse the driving direction.
